The United States Colored Troops Civil War Monument Dedication at Ferncliff Cemetery

This project is a collaboration between the Ferncliff Cemetery Association Board and Gammon House, Inc.

Join us on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Ferncliff Cemetery’s Civil War Veteran’s Mound at 10:30AM. We will dedicate a monument to the 139 United States Colored Troops buried in Ferncliff Cemetery for their service in the Civil War! These veterans fought not only for their own personal freedom but also to end slavery and pave the way for all African Americans to gain full citizenship.
